Albania Opens First Cluster of EU Accession Talks

At the Second Intergovernmental Conference with the European Union in Luxembourg, Albania officially opened Cluster One in its EU accession negotiations

This key cluster includes essential chapters such as the functioning of democratic institutions, public administration reform, and critical topics like justice and fundamental rights (Chapter 23), and equality, freedom, and security (Chapter 24).

Additionally, the cluster covers economic criteria, addressing public procurement (Chapter 5), statistics (Chapter 18), and financial control (Chapter 32), marking a significant step forward in Albania’s path toward EU membership.
