Ohrid Property Prices Surge

With prices reaching €4,000 per square meter, Ohrid’s allure for foreign buyers and retirees is undeniable

Ohrid, the jewel of Macedonia’s lakeside, is experiencing a property boom that’s breaking all records.

As foreign buyers flock to the area, prices for new apartments and properties near the shore have skyrocketed, reaching an eye-watering €4,000 per square meter.

The city’s charm, bolstered by UNESCO-protected natural beauty, has made it a hotspot for those seeking a mix of serene lakeside living and investment opportunities.

The demand is particularly high for smaller apartments, often purchased for holiday retreats or retirement homes.

Interestingly, over 30% of property buyers are foreigners, with a notable interest in the historic old town, where prices range from €2,000 to €3,000 per square meter.

Despite rising costs, Ohrid’s real estate market continues to attract both locals and international buyers, all eager to claim a slice of this picturesque paradise.
