Former Yugoslavia Airports Handle Over 32 Million Passengers in 2023

Tivat, Sarajevo, and Dubrovnik lead in growth, while Maribor and Rijeka report sharp declines

Commercial airports across the former Yugoslavia handled a total of 32,114,233 passengers from January to October, with 3.17 million travelers in October alone. 

Among the standout performers in October 2023 were Tivat, recording a 61.3% year-on-year growth, Sarajevo with a 32.1% increase, and Dubrovnik, which saw a 26.7% boost in passenger numbers, according to portal exyuaviation.com.

However, several regional airports faced challenges during the same period. Maribor experienced a significant 72.2% decline in passengers, Rijeka saw a 65.1% drop compared to October 2023, and Niš recorded a 9.6% year-on-year decrease. 

Other airports, including Podgorica, Banja Luka, Ohrid, Osijek, and Brač, also reported lower figures compared to the previous year.
