In a ceremonious event graced by Germany’s Ambassador to Serbia, Anke Konrad, and the President of Serbia, Aleksandar Vučic, the groundwork was laid for Muehlbauer Holding’s novel manufacturing plant in Stara Pazova. This initiative underscores a significant leap in Serbia’s technological and industrial sectors, fostering stronger bilateral ties with Germany.
Muehlbauer Group, a vanguard in the realm of biometric documents, RFID technology for currency and coin inspection, semiconductor industry, and precision parts, embarks on this venture to further cement its global leadership position.
Since its initial foray into Serbia in 2012 with the establishment of a technology park, Muehlbauer has been a beacon of innovation, employing approximately 250 highly skilled workers. Ambassador Konrad hailed this move as pivotal for the bilateral relations between the two nations, lauding Muehlbauer’s repute in smart cards and labels, with the production of personal ID cards standing as a testament to the trust vested in the company.
Highlighting the significance of local production, Konrad remarked on the encouraging prospects of the new factory and technology park aimed at battery cell and fuel cell technology for electric vehicles, which promises to not only generate high-skilled jobs in Stara Pazova but also spur the development of ‘Made in Serbia’ technologies.
“This venture is set to inspire emerging private companies and significantly contribute to the e-mobility sector globally, aligning with Serbia’s green transition efforts. Such private investments, both national and international, are crucial complements to the Serbian Government’s initiatives,” Konrad noted.
Reiterating Germany’s continued support for Serbia’s EU integration journey, Vučić highlighted the factory’s focus on developing and assembling batteries and fuel cells for electric vehicles, marking a substantial investment by the German tech giant in pioneering technology in Serbia.
This €30 million investment by Muehlbauer is anticipated to create 150 jobs in Stara Pazova, offering an average salary of €900, signifying a transformative phase in Serbia’s industrial and technological landscape.
