Belgrade Arena Could Be Sold as City Considers Ownership Change

The Belgrade Arena could be sold in the future as the city considers changes to the ownership and management of one of Serbia’s largest sports and entertainment venues

According to Nikola Jovanović, director of the Belgrade City Assembly, a sale of the Arena is being considered, although no final decision has been made on the potential transaction or a possible buyer.

The Arena, located in New Belgrade, is one of the country’s most important venues, hosting major sporting competitions, concerts, cultural events and international gatherings. Its potential sale could therefore have implications beyond the city’s property portfolio, particularly given its role in Belgrade’s event and tourism infrastructure.

The venue has a capacity of around 20,000 spectators, depending on the event and seating configuration, and has hosted some of the biggest international sporting and music events in Serbia. Any change in ownership would likely raise questions about the future management of the Arena, including its commercial strategy, maintenance and ability to continue hosting major international events.

For now, however, the possible sale remains at the level of a proposal rather than a completed transaction, with further details expected if the city decides to formally proceed with the process.
