Croatia Rejects Large-Scale Industrial Chicken Farm Projects In Sisak-Moslavina

Authorities halt controversial plans amid environmental concerns

Croatian authorities have rejected several proposals to build large-scale industrial chicken farms in Sisak-Moslavina County, halting projects that had sparked strong opposition from local communities and environmental groups.

The planned facilities were intended to operate on a massive scale, raising concerns about potential impacts on the environment, local agriculture, and quality of life for nearby residents.

Critics argued that the projects could strain local resources and threaten the region’s ecological balance.

Officials concluded that the proposals did not meet the necessary criteria, effectively stopping the developments and addressing concerns voiced by residents and environmental advocates.
