Over 230,000 Electronic Certificates Issued Since e-Bolovanje Launch

Digital system streamlines health administration in Serbia

Since the introduction of the e-Bolovanje system, more than 230,000 electronic sick leave certificates have been issued in Serbia, according to official data. The digital platform was launched to simplify procedures and reduce paperwork for employees, employers and healthcare institutions.

The system enables doctors to issue sick leave certificates electronically, with data automatically forwarded to the relevant institutions and companies.

Authorities say the reform has significantly shortened processing times and improved transparency, while reducing the administrative burden on medical staff and businesses.

Officials highlight that digitalisation in the healthcare sector is part of broader public administration reforms aimed at increasing efficiency and modernising state services. The number of issued electronic certificates is expected to continue rising as the system becomes fully integrated nationwide.
