In the foothills of Slovenia’s Kamnik–Savinja Alps, three entrepreneurs have turned frozen water into a luxury business.
Founded in 2020, Arctic Luxury Ice handcrafts crystal-clear cubes from pristine Alpine water, supplying bespoke blocks, spheres, and crushed ice to Michelin-starred chefs and top cocktail bars across Slovenia, Croatia, Austria, and Italy.
These cubes melt slower, preserving both the chill and integrity of fine spirits, and can be customised with engraved logos or encased flowers.
Last year, the company posted its first profit—€8,400 on €47,000 in sales—and now plans a €200,000–€300,000 cold storage facility for crushed ice in Nazarje.
Co-founder Jure Volčanžek says the goal is simple: elevate every sip into an experience. In a market where most ice is an afterthought, Arctic Luxury Ice proves that even the smallest details can sparkle.
