e-Gates at Belgrade Airport

From April 4, passengers from the EU and Schengen zone can now breeze through passport control in mere seconds

Starting this Friday, passengers flying through Belgrade’s Nikola Tesla Airport will experience a faster, smoother journey, as electronic gates (e-Gates) are extended to nationals from the European Union and Schengen zone countries.

The new system, effective from midnight on April 4, 2025, will allow EU citizens and travelers from the UK and the United States to skip the traditional passport queues and pass through in just 12 to 15 seconds.

Previously available only to Serbian citizens, the e-Gate system is now accessible to nationals from 21 countries, including Germany, France, Spain, Italy, and Austria.

The move aims to streamline airport processes and enhance passenger experience, reducing wait times at one of the region’s busiest transit points.

As travel continues to rise, innovations like the e-Gates are paving the way for smoother, more efficient air travel, marking a significant step towards modernizing Serbia’s air infrastructure.
