Ivan Rakočević Takes the Helm at Tivat Airport

From security to strategy, Rakočević is set to elevate Tivat Airport as Montenegro’s gateway to the world

Tivat Airport has appointed Ivan Rakočević as its new director, ushering in a new chapter for one of Montenegro’s key travel hubs. With over two decades of experience in law enforcement and a recent managerial role overseeing security at a prominent tourist complex in Tivat, Rakočević’s background brings a meticulous approach to leadership.

The move follows a successful tenure by outgoing director Vladimir Praščević, who steered the airport to record-breaking results despite the challenges of the pandemic. Under his guidance, the airport welcomed over one million passengers this year, the first time since 2019, and established key routes to cities like Bristol, Izmir and London Stanstead.

As Rakočević steps in, the focus is expected to shift toward further enhancing passenger experience and achieving international certifications. This appointment reflects a commitment to growth and innovation, positioning Tivat as a pivotal player in Montenegro’s aviation landscape.
