The Leaders of the Six Western Balkan Countries Signed the Berlin Declaration

The leaders of the six Western Balkan countries signed the Berlin Declaration at the 10th Berlin Process Summit, marking a significant step towards enhancing regional cooperation and closer integration with the European Union

Hosted by German Chancellor Olaf Scholz, the summit emphasized the importance of collaboration, democracy, and rule of law for the stability and prosperity of the region.

The declaration reaffirmed commitments to good neighborly relations and peaceful dispute resolution, as well as solidarity and security within the Western Balkans.

The summit also saw the signing of an Action Plan for the Common Regional Market 2025-2028, designed to integrate the region more closely with the EU’s single market. The leaders, alongside EU representatives, emphasized the importance of economic collaboration, regional mobility, and energy transition.

The Berlin Process, established in 2014, continues to play a crucial role in fostering dialogue and cooperation among the Western Balkan states on their path to EU membership.
