At just 19, Slovenian ski jumper Nika Prevc has firmly cemented her status as one of the sport’s brightest stars.
With a flawless performance in Trondheim, Norway, she claimed gold at the Nordic Ski World Championships, following an extraordinary six consecutive World Cup wins.
Prevc’s jumps of 98 and 100 meters earned her 258.2 points, securing a dominant victory over Germany’s Selina Freitag, who trailed by 8.4 points.
Norway’s Anna Odine Stroem completed the podium with bronze.
Prevc’s nerves were evident, particularly before her first jump, but she soon found her rhythm.
Her coach, Jurij Tepeš, praised her resolve, noting how she refocused after a slightly shaky first jump to clinch the title.
This gold is Slovenia’s sixth at the World Championships, adding to a legacy of success, with ski jumpers consistently excelling on the world stage.
The young champion’s victory marks a significant milestone, and the best may yet be ahead.
