Montenegrin producers returned from the 92nd International Agricultural Fair in Novi Sad with 199 awards — 50 more than the previous year.
This surge in accolades was seen as a sign that the country’s producers are increasingly recognized for their quality over quantity.
Lidija Rmuš, a representative of the Montenegrin Chamber of Commerce, pointed out that the growing number of awards each year reflects the country’s improving agricultural standards.
She mentioned that meat and wine producers had earned 43 awards each, while dairy and spirits sectors also received significant recognition.
Newcomers like Mille Baci, known for their ice cream and chocolate, were awarded 10 gold medals, along with top-tier trophies.
The company’s founder, Bojana Otašević, expressed that these awards were not only proof of quality but also showed that Montenegro, despite being a small nation, could create products recognized beyond its borders.
Selma Hadži, a representative from Lučka Olive Oil, shared that their company had earned four gold medals and a prestigious trophy for their olive oils and natural skincare products.

Marko Radonjić, an official from the Ministry of Agriculture, highlighted the significance of these awards, emphasizing that while Montenegro’s production was small in scale, it was highly regarded for its quality.
He added that regional cooperation was essential for helping Montenegrin producers access the necessary raw materials and equipment.
The fair, they noted, served as an invaluable platform for knowledge exchange and networking, providing local producers with connections that would aid in future market expansion.
