Croatian Sensation Zrinka Ljutić Triumphs in Semmering Slalom

Croatian skier claims first World Cup victory in dominant style

Zrinka Ljutić has made history, clinching her maiden FIS Alpine Ski World Cup victory with a commanding performance in the Semmering slalom in Austria. The Zagreb-born skier dazzled with precision and power, securing the win with a remarkable 1.75-second margin over Germany’s Lena Dürr. Austria’s Katharina Liensberger claimed third place, rounding off the podium.

Ljutić’s dominance was evident from the start. After a stellar first run that saw her leading the field, she delivered another flawless performance in the second, sealing a victory that cements her status as one of the sport’s rising stars.

This season has seen Ljutić consistently feature among the top ten in slalom events, with standout results in Levi, Gurgl, and Killington. However, Semmering marks a career-defining moment for the 19-year-old, who has already graced the slalom podium four times in her career. Notably, she finished second in Jasná, Soldeu, and Åre during last season’s races.

With her breakthrough win, Ljutić has firmly established herself as a force to be reckoned with on the World Cup circuit, and her star shows no signs of fading. As Croatia’s latest alpine skiing sensation, she carries the hopes of a nation eager to see her climb to even greater heights.
