Topić successfully cleared 1.92 metres in qualifying, securing her place among the athletes who will compete for the European title. She progressed through the qualification without needing to clear the automatic qualifying mark of 1.95m, as the number of athletes reaching the required standard was insufficient and the field was completed based on the best results.
The Serbian athlete has already enjoyed a highly successful 2026 season. Earlier this year, she won silver at the World Indoor Championships in Toruń, clearing 1.99m, and has established herself as one of Europe’s leading young high jumpers.
The final will bring together Europe’s best high jumpers, with Topić facing a particularly strong field as she bids for another major international medal. The competition is scheduled for Saturday, 15 August, when the medals will be decided.
At just 21, Topić continues to build an impressive international career and remains one of the biggest names in Serbian athletics. A strong performance in Birmingham could add another major medal to her growing collection and further establish her among the continent’s elite high jumpers.
