Croatia Signs €328 Million Deal In Paris

Croatia has strengthened its military capabilities by signing a contract for 18 Caesar MK2 self-propelled howitzers and a Letter of Intent to upgrade its Rafale fighter jets.

The agreements were formalized on 8 December 2025 in Paris, with Croatian Prime Minister Andrej Plenković and French President Emmanuel Macron witnessing the signing.

The full artillery package, valued at €328 million, includes the howitzers, associated equipment, and supplementary systems, with deliveries expected by 2030.

The upgrade for Croatia’s 12 Rafale F3-R jets to the F4 standard will enhance firepower, sensors, and overall combat effectiveness.

Prime Minister Plenković highlighted the growing defence cooperation with France, noting that part of an EU loan will support the acquisitions. Defence Minister Ivan Anušić emphasized that Croatian defence companies will participate where possible, while future naval modernization is also planned with new corvettes for the Croatian Navy.
