Carrefour Expands with Exclusive Rights in Montenegro

Retail and More, the Carrefour licensee for several Balkan countries, has secured exclusive rights in Montenegro and plans to expand its focus on Serbia as the largest market in the region

Greek company Retail and More, the licensee for Carrefour in Greece, Bulgaria, Serbia, North Macedonia, and Albania, has secured exclusive rights to represent the retail giant in Montenegro.

According to Retail Serbia, after completing the initial phase of expansion in Bulgaria and Greece, Retail and More will shift its focus to Serbia, the largest market in the Western Balkans, with Montenegro likely being the final destination in its regional growth strategy.

Retail and More has been enjoying double-digit sales growth in Greece, and new Carrefour stores are rapidly opening across Bulgaria. Carrefour’s headquarters in France recently confirmed plans to enter ten new markets over the next two years in partnership with Retail and More.

Currently, the company is developing two store formats in Greece and Bulgaria, offering fast and modern shopping experiences. Additionally, Retail and More is reportedly considering launching the Supeco discount chain, for which it holds exclusive rights under its agreements with the French group. This move could further diversify its offerings in the region and strengthen Carrefour’s presence in the Balkan retail market.
