The U.S. Embassy in BiH announced this significant support, highlighting contributions across various sectors including the economy, health, security, energy, agriculture, human rights, education, democracy, governance, justice, and media.
The U.S. government is currently backing financial and tax policy reforms and credit-guarantee programs aimed at unlocking private sector capital in RS.

The Embassy’s post on social media platform X emphasized the comprehensive nature of U.S. aid, which also included substantial demining efforts and crucial healthcare support during the COVID-19 pandemic.
In the energy sector, the U.S. provided RS with $8 million to enhance energy efficiency. In agriculture, American support has helped farmers professionalize and modernize their operations. On the human rights front, the U.S. invested $480,000 to establish service centers aiding over 300 families with children with developmental disabilities in Banja Luka, Foča, and Trebinje.
The U.S. Embassy noted the transparency and accountability of American aid, subtly responding to previous RS government inquiries about the allocation of funds with the assertion, “We know where American money went in RS.”
In education, the U.S. has been involved in renovating schools, playgrounds, sports facilities, and STEM classrooms in RS. Additionally, the U.S. has allocated $10 million to the RS Ministry of Internal Affairs.
Following the Embassy’s announcement, RS President Milorad Dodik affirmed that RS institutions are functioning smoothly, though he acknowledged challenges which he attributed to U.S. actions in BiH, without specifying these challenges.
This robust engagement underscores the depth of U.S. commitment to the stability and development of Republika Srpska and Bosnia and Herzegovina as a whole.
