In the serene setting of Kopaonik, Serbia’s famed ski resort, the 31st Kopaonik Business Forum has commenced, drawing attention to the theme “The New Global Context: Challenges of an Uncertain Future”. The event, stretching until the 6th of March, will feature an impressive lineup of more than 200 speakers, engaging an audience of approximately 1,500 participants in rich discourse on the pressing economic issues of our time.
The forum’s ambitious schedule spans four days, including three plenary sessions, addresses from four distinguished guests, and 33 panels. It was inaugurated with a keenly anticipated panel on the Western Balkans’ economic prospects, introduced by Dušan Vujović, the former Finance Minister, with contributions from esteemed representatives of the World Bank, the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD), and the International Monetary Fund (IMF).
Aleksandar Vlahović, the esteemed President of the Serbian Association of Economists, is set to officially open the forum on Monday. The days to follow promise insightful contributions from a varied group of economists, academics, business leaders, and policymakers. Notably, Jeffrey Sachs, a globally recognized economist and advisor to Yugoslavia’s last Prime Minister, Ante Marković, is among the highlighted speakers, underscoring the forum’s pivotal role in shaping economic discourse against the backdrop of global uncertainties.
