Zadar Airport’s Ambitious Expansion Begins

A major transformation is underway at Zadar Airport, promising to elevate Croatia’s infrastructure to new heights

Zadar Airport, one of Croatia’s rapidly growing transport hubs, is embarking on a major transformation that promises to reshape its future.

The airport is set to undergo an extensive renovation and expansion, with work commencing on Phase Three, Subphase A.

This initial stage has already secured a €15.3 million contract for contractor Krekić Avangard, marking the first step in a four-phase overhaul that will enhance passenger capacity and modernise the terminal.

The renovation will expand the departure and arrival areas while allowing the existing terminal to remain operational throughout. A new section, known as Dilatation A, will be constructed, alongside a temporary waiting area to accommodate increased traffic until the final phase is completed.

This strategic investment is expected to bolster Zadar’s growing role as a key destination in Dalmatia, with an emphasis on sustainability, including €10 million allocated for eco-friendly upgrades.

Once finished, the project will not only enhance the aesthetic appeal of the airport but will serve as a vital infrastructure upgrade to meet the demands of future travellers.

The expanded terminal is poised to provide a smoother, more modern experience for the growing number of visitors flocking to Croatia’s Adriatic coast.
