French Companies Suez and Vinci Tasked with Wastewater Treatment Project in Belgrade

French firms Suez and Vinci have been appointed to manage a new wastewater treatment project in Belgrade

In a significant move to enhance wastewater treatment in Belgrade, the Serbian government has signed a memorandum of understanding with French companies Suez International SAS and Vinci Construction Grands Projets.

The agreement focuses on the design, construction, financing, operation, and maintenance of a new wastewater treatment plant in Veliko Selo

The French government has approved funding to support the automation of Serbia’s electrical distribution network management, alongside assisting in the implementation of the project with Elektrodistribucija Srbije. This initiative is part of broader efforts to modernize the country’s infrastructure and utilities management.

The agreement was signed during a meeting at the Palace of Serbia, attended by Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić, and a delegation from the French business association MEDEF, including the French Ambassador to Serbia, Pierre Cochard. The meeting highlighted the ongoing and future collaborative projects between Serbia and French companies, including the construction of the Belgrade metro, the waste processing plant in Vinča, and developments at Belgrade’s Nikola Tesla Airport.

President Vučić and the Serbian government expressed satisfaction with the ongoing cooperation and emphasized the importance of exploring new projects and staying abreast of technological advancements. French companies’ interest in investing in these areas marks a promising step towards future collaborations.
