North Macedonia plans to complete the long-awaited high-speed railway along Pan-European Corridor X ( Corridor 10 ) by 2031, according to Aleksandar Nikoloski – Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Transport of North Macedonia. The feasibility study for the project is expected to be completed during the summer, marking a key step toward the realization of one of the country’s most significant infrastructure investments.
The railway is designed to improve regional connectivity, shorten travel times, and strengthen trade links between Central Europe and the Aegean region.
Officials say the project is a strategic priority for modernising transport infrastructure and integrating North Macedonia more deeply into European transport networks.
Authorities emphasized that the project will also support economic growth, logistics development, and cross-border cooperation, positioning the country as an important transit hub along one of Europe’s key transport corridors.
