The Government of Serbia has adopted a set of measures designed to support and boost domestic cheese production, with the aim of strengthening the country’s dairy industry. The decision introduces financial incentives and targeted assistance for producers in order to improve competitiveness and ensure stable supply on the market.
According to officials, the measures are intended to help dairy farmers and processors cope with rising production costs while encouraging higher quality standards and increased output.
Authorities stressed that supporting local production is key to enhancing food security and reducing dependence on imports.
The government said the new package is part of broader efforts to stabilise the agricultural sector, improve rural development and create better conditions for long term growth in Serbia’s food industry.
