Renault to Produce Affordable Dacia Electric Car in Slovenia

Renault’s Revoz plant in Slovenia is set to manufacture a new affordable Dacia electric car, expected to debut in 2026 at a price of under €18,000, as the brand targets growing competition from China

In a strategic move to secure its place in the increasingly competitive electric vehicle (EV) market, Renault has announced that its Slovene subsidiary, Revoz, will assemble a new Dacia electric city car.

The car, designed to rival the surge of affordable Chinese imports, will be priced below €18,000 and is anticipated to hit European streets by mid-2026.

Developed independently by Dacia on the platform of the new Renault E-Twingo, the compact model promises to offer an affordable entry point into the electric car market.

Revoz, based in Novo Mesto, already handles the production of the Renault E-Twingo, with plans to begin manufacturing in 2024. The plant’s expansion could create up to 400 new jobs, with the Slovene government offering up to €40 million in subsidies to support the project.

While there are rumors that Revoz could also produce the Nissan Pixo EV by 2027, official confirmation remains pending.

This bold move represents a significant step for Dacia and Renault, aiming to strengthen their position in the evolving EV landscape.
