Nestlé’s Two Decades of Growth in Serbia

Over the past 20 years, Nestlé has not only captured the hearts of Serbian consumers but also pioneered sustainability efforts and community initiatives, making a significant economic impact

Nestlé, the global food and beverage giant, marks its 20th anniversary in Serbia this year, cementing its position as a key player in the nation’s economy.

With a staggering investment of approximately €160 million, the company has grown to employ over 900 people, half of whom are women, and offers a wide range of products from beloved global brands such as NESCAFÉ and KitKat to local staples like Začin C and Maggi.

Nestlé’s Surčin factory is a model of circular economy, operating on a zero-waste-to-landfill policy and processing 65,000 liters of wastewater daily for reuse.

Its commitment to sustainability is also evident in a €1.8 million investment in regenerative agriculture, aimed at enhancing local production.

Beyond business success, Nestlé has made significant contributions to local communities, from donating €1.2 million in food to vulnerable groups during the pandemic to educating over 200,000 children on healthy eating.

These efforts demonstrate the company’s long-term commitment to both economic growth and social responsibility.
