Serbia Finalizes Full Takeover of Air Serbia from Etihad Airways

Serbia has nearly completed the necessary formalities to acquire the remaining shares in Air Serbia, currently held by Etihad Airways, Finance Minister Siniša Mali has announced.

Air Serbia, once a bankrupt entity, is now the region’s leading airline, with routes spanning four continents. This transformation is a testament to how a thriving airline can significantly boost a nation’s economic growth,” said Mali in a statement to the press at the Finance Ministry. He also extended gratitude to Etihad Airways for their partnership since 2013:

“Our thanks go to Etihad Airways for their collaboration as partners and co-owners of Air Serbia. Their decision to withdraw is based on their business strategy, leaving us with the exciting task of further developing our national carrier.”

Mali emphasized that the Serbian government is committed to further advancing Air Serbia, focusing on acquiring larger aircraft and launching new international routes.
