Air Serbia Launches Direct Flights Between Belgrade and Shanghai

Air Serbia's new direct route to Shanghai strengthens ties with China, offering biweekly flights and boosting connectivity between the two nations

Air Serbia has officially inaugurated a direct air route connecting Belgrade to Shanghai, marking a significant milestone in the airline’s expansion. The first flight, JU986, departed as part of the new schedule offering two weekly connections between the Serbian capital and the Chinese metropolis. 

Flights from Belgrade to Shanghai will operate on Tuesdays and Saturdays, with return flights from Shanghai scheduled for Wednesdays and Sundays.

A Gateway to China

This new route is set to continue throughout the next summer season, which begins on 30 March 2025, providing passengers with ongoing access to one of China’s most dynamic cities. The launch represents an important step in strengthening ties between Serbia and China, fostering opportunities for trade, tourism, and cultural exchange.

The inaugural flight was celebrated with a formal send-off, attended by distinguished guests, including Chinese Ambassador Li Ming, highlighting the diplomatic significance of the occasion.

With this direct connection, Air Serbia is reinforcing its commitment to expanding its global network and enhancing connectivity between Serbia and key international destinations.
