The news was confirmed by Croatia’s Ministry of Economy. The company notified the Croatian Hydrocarbon Agency about the find, which lies within the SAVA-06 exploration block.
This area covers parts of Zagreb County, as well as sections of Sisak-Moslavina and Koprivnica-Križevci counties, and the City of Zagreb.
Drilling of the well began in June 2024, reaching a final depth of 1,670 metres by 23 June. The well met expectations, revealing significant hydrocarbon saturation.
Marijan Krpan, Chairman of the Hydrocarbon Agency, stated that initial tests indicated the well could yield between 160,000 and 320,000 cubic metres of gas daily, which would account for approximately 10% of Croatia’s total daily gas production.
ASPECT Croatia, a subsidiary of Aspect Holdings, based in Denver, USA, signed an agreement with the Croatian government in 2020 to explore and exploit hydrocarbons within the SAVA-06 block.
