Hungary Launches Golden Visa Program

Starting in 2025, Hungary will launch a Golden Visa program, offering wealthy foreigners the opportunity to live and work in the country in exchange for substantial investments

One option for obtaining a ten-year residency in Hungary is through the purchase of real estate, with the investor receiving the right to reside in Hungary for ten years, as well as a Hungarian passport that grants unlimited movement within the Schengen Area. The requirement is the purchase of property worth at least half a million euros.

Additionally, the Hungarian government has decided that starting this summer, citizens from eight countries—Bosnia and Herzegovina, North Macedonia, Belarus, Moldova, Montenegro, Russia, Serbia, and Ukraine—can work on its territory under more favourable conditions

Another option for acquiring a ten-year residence permit and Hungarian travel documents is by investing at least 250,000 euros in real estate investment funds issued by the Hungarian National Bank.

A third option is a public donation of at least one million euros.

Applicants can request a two-year national ID card and reapply for an extension every three years without further restrictions.
