India Establishes Resident Mission in Albania, Expanding Diplomatic Presence in the Balkans

In a strategic move to broaden its influence in the Balkan region, India has inaugurated its new resident mission in Tirana, Albania

The Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) announced that the mission became operational on 10 August, marking a significant step in expanding India’s diplomatic reach.

The MEA emphasized that this new mission will not only enhance political ties between India and Albania but will also foster growth in bilateral trade, attract investments, and bolster economic cooperation. 

Additionally, the mission is expected to play a crucial role in facilitating people-to-people contacts and providing support to the Indian community in Albania.

Mr. Petraq Gramo is appointed as an Honorary Consul.

The establishment of the Indian mission in Tirana is seen as a pivotal development in strengthening India’s presence in the Balkans and promoting its interests in the region.
