Croatia Airlines Enhances Fleet with Panasonic Wi-Fi

Croatia Airlines has entered into an agreement with Panasonic Avionics to introduce Wi-Fi services on its new Airbus A220 fleet, marking a significant technological upgrade for the national carrier

Croatia Airlines has struck a deal with Panasonic Avionics, the world’s leading provider of in-flight entertainment and connectivity (IFEC) services, to provide Wi-Fi for its new Airbus A220 fleet. The Croatian national carrier has opted to equip its fleet with Wi-Fi for the first time, installing Panasonic’s Ku-band satellite system on 15 new A220 aircraft by 2027, with the first aircraft expected in June this year.

Passengers on Croatia Airlines’ A220 flights will be able to enjoy high-speed Wi-Fi, allowing them to stay connected, work, browse, or communicate with loved ones during flights. Each seat in the new A220 fleet will also feature USB-A and USB-C ports, alongside practical holders for smartphones and tablets, enhancing passenger comfort.

Choosing Panasonic Avionics for its Ku-band solution, known for meeting the highest network service standards, reflects Croatia Airlines’ commitment to exceptional passenger service. The Ku-band antenna will link each A220 aircraft to Panasonic Avionics’ high-speed, high-capacity global satellite communication network, ensuring the capacity meets the demands of airlines and their passengers.

Hernan Abbes, Panasonic Avionics’ global vice president of sales, expressed pride in being chosen by Croatia Airlines to provide its first fleet Wi-Fi service, believing it will enrich the airline-passenger relationship and in-flight experience. Jasmin Bajić, CEO of Croatia Airlines, highlighted the significance of introducing internet connectivity for the first time in the airline’s 35-year history, coinciding with the A220 arrival, aligning with their mission to enhance in-flight passenger experience and provide superior connectivity.
