Tijana Bošković Wins First Champions League Title

The Serbian star finally crowns her club career with Europe’s biggest trophy.

Tijana Bošković has won her first CEV Women’s Champions League title with VakıfBank, defeating Eczacıbaşı 3–1 in the final completing her collection of major honors and being named MVP of the competition. One of the greatest players of her generation, Bošković began playing volleyball at just 14 and quickly rose to global prominence. Still in her 20s, she has already led Serbian women’s national volleyball team to back-to-back European and World Championship titles, while also winning Olympic silver and bronze medals, earning MVP honors at all four major tournaments.

Her dominance has been marked by both consistency and power, including a record-breaking spike of 110.3 km/h during the 2019 European Championship semifinal against Turkey, the fastest in the history of women’s volleyball.

Despite numerous individual and national team successes, the Champions League trophy had long eluded her, until now.

Bošković’s triumph was shared with fellow Serbian internationals Katarina Dangubić and Aleksandra Jegdić, who are also part of the VakıfBank squad. Dangubić, previously known as Lazović, has built a strong international career and remains a regular member of the national team. Jegdić, contributes primarily as a libero, known for her defensive reliability and reception, further highlighting the depth of Serbian talent at the top level of European volleyball.
