Will Croatia Recognize Student Internships as Work Experience?

Croatia may soon count student internships as real work experience.

This country is considering a major change for students and young professionals: recognizing internships as official work experience. The move could help graduates enter the job market faster and improve their career prospects across the EU.

Currently, many students complete internships without gaining formal recognition, leaving a gap between education and employment.

If adopted, the policy would allow students to list internships on CVs as legitimate professional experience.

This way young talent would be better prepared for real-world challenges. The proposal is part of a broader push to modernize education and workforce policies in the region. It would make it easier for students across the Adria region to enter the job market, encourage practical learning, and strengthen the connection between education and employment.
