Hailing from Croatia, Verne, the ambitious startup spearheaded by Rimac, is fast-tracking the future of urban mobility with its self-driving robotaxis now being tested on the streets of Zagreb.
This marks a pivotal moment in the evolution of fully autonomous vehicles.
With the aim to redefine city transport, Verne’s innovative autonomous system is undergoing rigorous trials across the Croatian capital, covering 90 square kilometres, including iconic locations like Zagreb’s city centre and the airport.
Verne’s partnership with Mobiley has resulted in the creation of test vehicles equipped with state-of-the-art technology.
As testing intensifies, Verne is simultaneously constructing a cutting-edge factory in Lučko, set to manufacture the robotaxis for global distribution.
The factory will employ up to 400 people and is expected to be fully operational soon. Crucially, these developments are privately funded, with no reliance on EU grants.
The robotaxis represent not just a leap in vehicle technology but also a bold vision for the future of travel.
