British Airways To Launch London–Tivat Route Next May

Montenegrin government hails new Heathrow connection as a major boost for tourism and aviation

British Airways will introduce a seasonal London Heathrow – Tivat service starting 14 May, Montenegro’s Minister of Transport Maja Vukićević confirmed on Thursday. The move marks what she described as a “historic step” for the country’s aviation sector and a clear validation of the ministry’s current strategy.

Vukićević noted that she first spoke publicly about the agreement in early September following a meeting with UK Ambassador Don McKen, emphasizing that establishing a direct Heathrow link reflects Montenegro’s growing visibility and credibility in the European aviation market.

The new route is expected to significantly strengthen tourism and business travel between Montenegro and the United Kingdom, further positioning Tivat Airport as a key seasonal hub on the Adriatic.
