Croatia recorded strong tourism activity in September, with new data showing that visitors generated significant spending across the country despite the end of the peak summer season.
Coastal destinations continued to account for a major share of tourist spending, with popular Adriatic counties recording particularly strong results. However, the data also point to the growing importance of destinations beyond the traditional summer hotspots, as visitors increasingly travel during the shoulder season and explore Croatia’s inland regions. The figures underline the economic importance of extending the tourist season beyond July and August.
September offers favourable weather, fewer crowds and continued demand for Croatia’s coastal, cultural and gastronomic attractions, making it an increasingly important period for hotels, restaurants and other tourism-related businesses.
The latest results come as Croatia seeks to strengthen year-round tourism and attract visitors with higher spending power. The September performance suggests that the country’s tourism sector is gradually becoming less dependent on the peak summer months, while individual destinations continue to compete for a greater share of visitor spending.
