Montenegro has officially launched the Renewable Energy Sources Association (RES Montenegro), a new platform aimed at bringing together investors and key stakeholders in the country’s renewable energy sector, with the support of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) and the European Union.

The association was established by leading renewable energy companies operating in Montenegro and is designed to strengthen dialogue between the private sector and public institutions, improve the regulatory environment, and accelerate investments in solar and wind energy.

EBRD Montenegro Director Remon Zakaria highlighted that recent legislative reforms and competitive auctions have created a solid foundation for renewable energy development, while the new association will help ensure continued cooperation with investors.

Montenegrin Minister of Energy and Mining Admir Šahmanović stressed that energy transition is a global priority and that stable regulations and strong international partnerships position Montenegro as a credible destination for green investments.

Marko Radulović, President of RES Montenegro, said the key question is no longer whether the transition will happen, but how quickly it can be achieved, while Bernard Brunet from the EU Delegation underlined that renewable energy reforms are already increasing European investor interest and strengthening Montenegro’s connection to the EU energy market.
