Los Angeles County Declares Croatian Culture Week

Los Angeles County has proclaimed 20-26 May 2024, as "Croatian Culture Week" to celebrate the rich heritage of its significant Croatian American community in San Pedro

The Los Angeles County Board of Supervisors has officially designated 20 May through 26 May 2024, as “Croatian Culture Week,” celebrating the rich heritage of one of the largest Croatian American communities in the United States, located in San Pedro.

Supervisor Janice Hahn, who represents the area, highlighted the profound influence of Croatian culture and traditions on the community, noting that “San Pedro would not be San Pedro without the Croatian community.”

The declaration comes as the area prepares for the 34th Annual Croatian Independence Day Street Party at Croatian American Hall, a hub for the community’s vibrant celebrations that include traditional music, dancing, and food.
