Surf’n’Fries Joins Formula 1 in Jeddah

From Rijeka to the racetrack – a Croatian fast-food brand accelerates onto the global stage at the Saudi Arabian Grand Prix

In a milestone for Croatian entrepreneurship, it was confirmed that Surf’n’Fries would become the first Croatian brand to participate at a Formula 1 event, serving its signature fries to visitors at the Saudi Arabian Grand Prix in Jeddah from 18 to 20 April 2025.

The company, founded in Rijeka in 2009, was said to have revolutionised fast food with its inventive packaging and street food concept, and had since expanded into more than 20 countries worldwide.

At the Grand Prix, it was reported that Surf’n’Fries would operate two specially designed mobile units, built to serve large crowds efficiently without compromising on quality.

Co-founder Denis Polić stated that the moment marked a major achievement for the brand, noting that appearing alongside some of the world’s most recognisable names was a sign of Surf’n’Fries’ success.

His business partner, Andrija Čolak, expressed pride that thousands of visitors would be able to experience a Croatian product on one of the world’s biggest sporting stages, and he credited their Saudi franchise partners for making the opportunity possible.

The collaboration was described as a natural next step, reflecting the brand’s growing presence in the Middle East and its increasing appeal as a partner for large-scale events – suggesting even greater ambitions ahead.
