Montenegro Airports Expand with New Routes

With new routes, including a direct flight from Tivat to Barcelona and five new destinations from Podgorica, Montenegro’s airports are set for a summer of soaring demand

Montenegro’s summer aviation season is poised to take off with fresh connections and expanded flight schedules.

As the season begins on March 30, airports across the country, including Tivat and Podgorica, are expecting a significant uptick in traffic.

Tivat, in particular, welcomes Spanish low-cost carrier Vueling, which launches its first-ever route to Barcelona on July 1, marking a new chapter in Montenegro’s aviation ties with Europe.

In addition to this, popular carriers such as easyJet and Jet2.com are increasing their operations, promising a prolonged summer travel period that could extend up to seven months.

Meanwhile, Podgorica’s airport is introducing five new routes, including direct flights to Prague, Brno, Baku, Cairo, and Madrid, further cementing the country’s growing appeal as a travel hub.

The goal for next year is to make the Podgorica-Madrid connection a regular seasonal service.

With more than 2.8 million passengers expected this year, Montenegro’s airports are set to break records, continuing their trend of growth and increasing global connectivity.
