Hiša Franko Earns Top Gault&Millau Rating In Slovenia

Slovenia’s culinary scene continues to rise as Hiša Franko becomes the first restaurant in the country to receive the highest five-toque rating from the Gault&Millau guide.

Led by star chef Ana RošHiša Franko reached this milestone just three years after earning three Michelin stars, remaining the only restaurant in Slovenia with that top Michelin recognition. The latest Gault&Millau guide features over 200 restaurants and highlights a new generation of chefs reshaping the country’s gastronomy.

A record 51 restaurants received at least three toques, while 14 earned four, including Ošterija Debeluh, where Jure Tomič was named Chef of the Year 2026. Newcomers like Dam Restavracija and Vila Muhr also stood out, while 36 restaurants secured three toques, reflecting the growing quality and innovation across Slovenia’s dining scene.
