The Hermitage Days in Belgrade

A historic cultural exchange between Serbia and Russia brings the grandeur of the Hermitage Museum to Belgrade, with exhibitions, concerts, and films celebrating centuries-old ties

Belgrade is set to host the second edition of the Hermitage Days from February 19–23, 2025, marking a rare international cultural collaboration.

Organized by the Hermitage Museum and Gazprom Neft, under the patronage of the Serbian government, the event celebrates the rich historical bond between Russia and Serbia, especially during the reign of Peter the Great.

The exhibition, Peter the Great and the Balkans, highlights key Serbian figures who fought alongside the Tsar, such as Matija Zmajević and Mihailo Miloradović.

In addition to the exhibition, audiences will be treated to gala performances by Russia’s opera and ballet stars at the National Theatre, featuring renowned names like Svetlana Zakharova and Hibla Gerzmava.

A series of films, including Peter the Great: The Last Tsar and the First Emperor and Empresses, will be screened at the Russian House, offering an immersive look into Russia’s imperial history.

The Hermitage Days bring a rare opportunity to experience Russian culture in the heart of Belgrade, bridging two nations with a shared history.
