Six Croatian Destinations Recognized Among Top 100 Sustainable Tourism Practices for 2024

In a major boost for Croatia's growing eco-tourism industry, six destinations have been featured in the prestigious Green Destinations list of the world's top 100 sustainable tourism practices for 2024

The destinations—Cres, Dugi Otok, Ivanić Grad, Lika Destination Cluster, Mali Lošinj, and Plitvice Lakes National Park—were selected for their innovative approaches to sustainability.

The announcement was made by Tourism Lab, Croatia’s representative for Green Destinations. Notably, Mali Lošinj continues its presence on the list, this time for its project “A New Look at the Lošinj Underwater World,” led by the Blue World Institute. The project was recognized for its educational focus and contribution to marine conservation.

This year saw over 170 applications from 45 countries, with 129 sustainability stories evaluated by a team of international experts. Destinations were assessed on their effectiveness, innovation, and the transferability of their sustainable tourism practices.
