Kosovo’s Siparantum Choir has claimed a Gold Medal and a Special Award for Best Contemporary Program and Stage Performance at the prestigious “Sing for Gold – The World Choral Cup” in Barcelona.
Competing in the ‘Adult Choir’ category against ensembles from across the globe, the choir’s triumphant performance featured works by both Albanian and international composers, demonstrating a range that spanned multiple stylistic periods.
Founded in 2017 in Peja/Pec, western Kosovo, Siparantum Choir has steadily risen in prominence, propelled by the dedication of its volunteers and guided by Memli Kelmendi, Kosovo’s representative on the World Choir Council and national ambassador to the International Federation of Choir Conductors.
This recent accolade adds to the choir’s impressive record of 14 international awards, solidifying its position among the world’s top 25 choral groups in Interkultur’s ‘Chamber Choirs & Vocal Ensembles’ rankings. The choir’s accomplishments have further cemented Kosovo’s cultural standing on the global stage, showcasing a rich, diverse heritage through the universal language of music.
