Delta Holding Eyes Strategic Expansion into Croatian Tourism and Agriculture

In a bold move to diversify its portfolio, Serbian Delta Holding has announced its intention to invest in Croatia's burgeoning tourism and agricultural sectors, eyeing potential acquisitions and opportunities for growth

Delta Holding, the Serbian conglomerate, has expressed a keen interest in expanding its investments into the Croatian market, with a particular focus on the hospitality and agricultural sectors. This was announced during their annual press conference held in Belgrade, where company executives highlighted the potential acquisition of agricultural firms from the Fortenova group as an enticing opportunity.

Luka Popović, the Chief Executive of Delta Agrar, addressed inquiries from Croatian journalists, affirming the company’s unwavering commitment to the Croatian market. Popović emphasised the strategic approach of the company, stating, “We are in search of the right opportunity to enter the market. Our aim is not to be a marginal player but to secure a position where we can be a significant market force.”

The prospect of Fortenova group’s agricultural companies being put up for sale has caught the attention of Delta Holding, with Popović noting the high regard in which these companies are held within Croatia. However, he also acknowledged the need for more detailed information regarding the sale process and the terms involved.

It’s worth noting that the Fortenova group has recently initiated a process to gauge interest for the potential sale of its agricultural business division, reaching out to several prospective buyers with preliminary information. The group anticipates receiving non-binding offers by the end of the first quarter, which will then guide the decision on whether to proceed with the sale. The agricultural division of Fortenova includes prominent companies such as Belje, PIK Vinkovci, and Vupik, marking a significant opportunity within the Croatian agricultural sector.
