At the world’s largest wine fair, ProWein 2025 in Düsseldorf, Croatian winemakers are making their mark.
Fourteen esteemed producers, including Badel 1862, Vina Belje, and Požega Impex, are seizing the opportunity to introduce their award-winning wines to an international audience.
Despite significant technological advancements and recognition at top wine competitions, Croatia’s position on the global wine map remains limited, according to Dragan Kovačević of the Croatian Chamber of Commerce (HGK).
Yet, this year’s ProWein has proven fruitful, with Vina Belje earning a record six gold and five silver medals, cementing their reputation as the country’s best winery.
As the industry grows, these wines—ranging from robust reds to renowned brandies—are gaining traction in markets such as Germany, Austria, and the US.
The message is clear: Croatia’s wine industry is ready to compete on the world stage, and ProWein is just the beginning.
