2,200 Register for Work in Serbia Through Open Balkan Initiative

Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić announced that 2,200 individuals have applied to work in Serbia using the Open Balkan initiative's identification card system

Through the Open Balkan initiative, 2,200 individuals have registered for employment in Belgrade and Serbia using the identification card, as stated by the President of Serbia, Aleksandar Vučić.

He emphasised that Serbia faces a labour shortage and that the introduction of identification cards has been beneficial.

“The majority of the interest is from North Macedonia,” Vučić added, noting that several hundred of our citizens have also registered to go to other places, but through Open Balkan, the influx of workers into Serbia is significantly higher than the outflow.

Appearing on TV Informer, Vučić also mentioned that Serbia experienced an economic growth of 5.9 percent in February.
