First Serbian Firm To Join Global Sustainable Tourism Council

Visit Online Smart Solutions, a Belgrade-based company, has achieved a significant milestone by becoming the first full corporate member from Serbia in the Global Sustainable Tourism Council (GSTC)

The firm, which operates the digital platform Visit-Serbia.Online, announced this landmark development, marking a significant step forward in the integration of sustainable practices within the Serbian tourism sector.

The GSTC is renowned for setting and managing the global standards for sustainable travel and tourism, known as the GSTC Criteria. Serbia’s official membership in the GSTC, supported by UNDP Serbia last year, underscores the country’s commitment to sustainable tourism practices. Visit Online Smart Solutions’ platform not only adheres to these criteria but also encourages its partners to enhance their management, socio-economic impact, cultural heritage, and environmental conservation efforts.

With the aid of innovative marketing automation tools, Visit-Serbia.Online has expanded beyond mere ticket sales for individual attractions. It has innovatively bundled thematic ticket packages, integrating offerings like the Sombor City Card, Adventure in the Srem Plain, Zlatibor’s Four Pearls, and Museums 4 You – a single ticket accessing four museums in Belgrade.

This strategic approach aims to boost visitor numbers, extend stays, and highlight lesser-known destinations, thereby broadening the tourism appeal and contributing to the sustainable development of the region.
