Sarajevo Hosts Major eCommerce Conference

In Southeast Europe, eCommerce is no longer an evolution — it’s a revolution

At the third Let’s do eCommerce conference in Sarajevo, speakers told a 500-strong audience that Southeast Europe was fast becoming a driving force in the global digital economy.

Organisers from the internet trade association eComm said the event, held under the patronage of BiH Presidency member Denis Bećirović, reflected the region’s accelerating digital transformation.

Jasmin Marić, eComm president, said digital commerce was no longer optional, noting a sharp rise in online transactions across the region.

Researcher Matjaž Robinšak revealed that online shopping in Bosnia and Herzegovina had grown from 30% to 45% in two years, and that return rates were strikingly low — just 5%. He stressed that local businesses had a unique opportunity to build consumer loyalty.

AI expert Celeste Fejzo explained how artificial intelligence was already anticipating consumer needs before users became aware of them.

Meanwhile, eComm vice-president Alma Ahmić said the conference cemented Sarajevo’s position as a digital innovation hub — where technology, sustainability and user experience converge.
