Electric Citroën C3 Begins Production in Kragujevac

After more than five decades, Citroën returns to Serbia with the electric C3, marking a new chapter for the iconic French brand and the Kragujevac factory

In a historic moment for both Citroën and Serbia, the first electric Citroën C3 models have rolled off the production lines at the Kragujevac factory, once home to the brand’s vehicles in the 1970s.

These test vehicles are already being driven through the streets of Kragujevac, a town now synonymous with automotive innovation, following the production of the electric Fiat Panda.

The C3 is a sleek, four-meter city car, designed with a 310-litre boot and offering a range of up to 320 kilometres on a single charge.

Priced at around €26,500, it is expected to receive a €5,000 state subsidy, making it an attractive option for Serbian buyers.

While a precise launch date is yet to be confirmed, industry insiders expect the C3 to hit the market soon, heralding a new era for the Kragujevac plant.

As car parts are currently being sent to Slovakia for final assembly, the eagerly anticipated rollout of Citroën’s electric future is drawing closer.
